Ludu Daw Ahmar, Burma's most renowned literary figure will celebrate her 92nd. birthday on November 29th. Thursday .

According to her son, one thousand monks will be blessing her on this birthday as she plans to offer lunch or "soon" to them at the Maha Gandayone monastery, Amayapuya township in Mandalay.

Kyemon U Thaung, a well -known veteran journalist who resides in Florida recalled during AFPFL era , Ludu Daw Ahmar's courage, cool and calmness in facing the Home minister who threatened to re-arrest her husband Ludu U Hla.

Even today under the current political turmoil in Burma, Daw Ahmar has made her voice heard said U Thaung. U Win Pe, an all round Burmese Culture expert also notes if all of us can fulfill Daw Daw Mar's wishes as he fondly calls her, the lives of Burmese people will be far better than today. Her wish, U Win Pe said is also her life long belief which is to help in her capacity for Burma to be prosperous, to be free and all the people to be both well in spirit and in health.

In her birthday message to VOA Burmese service Ludu Daw Ahmar said although she remains optimistic, she notes change will not happen without any effort by the people. We will have to understand each other and work together for the sake of the country and to bring peace to Burmese people.
